The area of Castellabate has two main villages, whose history goes back to middle age: Castellabate itself, located on a hill above the sea, and Santa Maria di Castellabate, located at the sea side. The Castellabate area if the first area of the Cilento National park that is encountered while driving south along the coastline. The area has wonderful beaches in front of an uncontaminated blue transparent sea. Unfortunately, little information for visitors is available in English on the web. Santa Maria di Castellabate is at about one hour by car from La Morella farmhouse. A visit to that area would certainly deserve a full day or more, but a first quick visit from our agriturismo can be combined, in a single one-day car tour, to a visit to the Paestum area.
