From La Morella you can visit innumerable sites of interest in the Cilento National Park<\/h3>\n

The Cilento National Park is an extraordinary\u00a0UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/a>\u00a0whose full name is\u00a0“Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park with the Archeological Sites of Paestum and Velia, and the Certosa di Padula”.\u00a0The\u00a0Cilento National Park\u00a0features highly diversified attractions, including archaeological areas from the Magna Graecia civilization, beach-holidays resorts, rural landscapes, grottoes, mountain hikes, ancient villages and masterpieces of sacred art and architecture. It is one of the many Unesco World Heritage sites in Campania<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Farmhouse near Cilento National Park<\/h2>\n

The farmstay La Morella, near Battipaglia, is literally at the doorway of the Cilento National Park, on the north-est side. It offers accommodations largely meeting the comfort standard of a three-star hotel. Beside that, it offers all the advantages of an Agriturismo and a wine farm: organic\u00a0cultivated fields, a restaurant with typical products and local specialties, \u00a0a farmshop with our farm products, an ancient cellar for wine tasting and\u00a0a large open-air swimming pool in a tree-lined park.<\/p>\n

At about 2 km from the farmhouse Agriturismo La Morella, in Battipaglia, the flow of visitors descending southern Italy from Naples to visit the Cilento National Park bifurcates: those who are going to visit Paestum, Velia and the Cilento coast, head south on the National Street 18 (Strada Statale 18). Those who visit the Vallo di Diano and the Certosa di Padula, head east on motorway A3.\u00a0Being at the doorway of Cilento, our farmhouse is also an excellent starting point for visiting other major attraction of Campania, as Pompeii (Pompei in Italian) and Amalfi.<\/p>\n

Cilento\u00a0is also a\u00a0birthplace of the Mediterranean diet, inscribed for this in the\u00a0Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity<\/a> since\u00a0in 2011. It belongs in fact to one of the four territories \u00a0(Soria in Spain, Koroni in Greece, Cilento in Italy and Chefchaouen in Morocco) chosen by UNESCO as representative of the set of skills, knowledge, practices and traditions\u00a0tradition that are the background of the Mediterranean Diet.<\/p>\n

Little information in English about this area is available on the web. We therefore prepared for you a dedicated web page for four major attractions \u00a0in the Cilento National Park, among the many, that can be easily reached in a one-day excursion by\u00a0the guests that are lodged in the\u00a0rooms or apartments of our farm stay. \u00a0The excursions number 1 & 2, as well as n. 3 & 4 can be grouped in a single one-day journey.<\/p>\n

    Aside from these four highlights, there is a huge\u00a0region\u00a0where you will discover, at\u00a0the background of\u00a0a stunning coastline and a blue crystalline sea, areas with an untouched nature, olive and wine fields, medieval villages and mountains rising to about 2000 m.<\/p>\n
